By Air: Four airlines (Allegiant,
American,
Delta and United) fly in to the Rapid City airport which is 25
miles from BHHEC. We will be happy to meet you there and
provide transportation to the center, at no extra charge.

By Car from the East or West: Go to
Rapid City on I-90; take exit 60 and follow North Street as it
curves to the south west; take a left at the stop light onto
Campbell and head south. Campbell becomes Highway 79. Stay on
Highway 79 going south for 15 miles. About a quarter mile past
the Flying J, take a right on Highway 40. Follow directions

By Car from South: Travel north on
Highway 79. Approximately 30 miles north of the Hot Springs
junction is Highway 40 (if you pass the Flying J you've gone
too far), turn left toward Keystone. Follow directions "From
Highway 40" (See below)

From Highway 40: Go four miles west. You
will see a blue sign "B H Health & Education Center
! 2.5 miles", turn left onto
Battle Creek Road. Then turn right at the "T" (Box Canyon Road
goes to the left and Battle Creek Road to the right). Follow
the "BHHEC" signs to the
Main Lodge parking lot, about 2
miles.

Local Attractions
Black Hills Health and Education Center is
located in a valley surrounded by red rock cliffs in the
legendary Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming. Within easy
driving distance are six national parks, scenic drives,
waterfalls, abundant wildlife, acclaimed recreational trails
and trout fishing.
Our guests are treated to special tours of
local attractions during their stay with us and you may choose
to visit more on your way home.
Just ten miles away is
Mount Rushmore National Monument, and eighteen miles
brings you to
Custer State Park offering 71,000 acres of varied terrain,
from prairie grasslands to rugged mountain peaks, forests,
lakes and a wildlife reserve where bison roam free.
Other local points of interest include:
Crazy Horse Monument and Indian Museum in Custer;
The Mammoth Site (excavations in progress) in Hot Springs;
Spearfish Canyon is located in the northern Black Hills;
Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming is 2½ hours
away;
Badlands National Park is approximately 2 hours to the
east.
