Personal Trainer
The need
for fitness is becoming more and more apparent in today's
world. With obesity at an all time high and health care costs
and disease continually on the rise, fitness becomes more and
more of a concern. People want help and instruction in getting
fit and with that comes the need for personal trainers to work
one on one with individuals. the fitness industry today, is a
multi-billion dollar industry. Personal training continues to
be its ever growing offspring. Exercise is one of the number
one things to manage and eliminate health problems and
concerns. Unfortunately as the fitness industry continues to
raise, so do errors and myths surrounding fitness. The need
for true, sound instruction needed in this area. Any one can
take a course in fitness and become certified, but that means
very little if the "certified" trainer has not received sound
instruction and principles and does not really have the
experience of working with actual clients.
The BHHEC Internship offers a unique experience not offered
elsewhere. Black Hills Health & Education Center has been
running health retreat programs since 1982. Every month we
have a wide range of people of all ages with physical and
emotional issues. As a result, interns will get hands on
experience, training people with heart disease, diabetes,
hypertension, depression, obesity, disabilities and much more.
Interns will also receive instruction in principles of health
and wellness, and learn about dealing with people in the right
like way. They will receive instruction from our experienced
staff.
