Carob Syrup

 Carob Syrup
 
      2 cups water
      2 cups soft dates
      1/2 cup carob powder  
      1/4 cup coffee substitute like Pero
      1 teaspoon vanilla
 
Blend until smooth.  Pour into container and add 1 cup water.  (Use to rinse blender).  Stir well.   Use 5 tablespoons syrup to 1 cup water to make a delicious hot or cold drink or mix 1/2 cup rice milk with 1/2 cup water and add 4 Tablespoons carob syrup.  Blend until smooth.  Use as you would chocolate syrup.  Delicious on bananas with nuts on top.  Good on waffles.
