Is it feasible to expect that I could get off of insulin entirely during a 3 week program at Black Hills? I have been struggling with type II Diabetes for years and would like to find a way to control my blood sugar without the drugs.
Thanks

Absolutely! People who have been injecting insulin for 30 years have left insulin free. We have a woman in our program as we speak who was able to get off her injections by the end of the first week.

Hi Gena,
Like Dick said, it is very possible to get off one's insulin and have normal blood sugar levels during one of our 3 week programs. Many people have done it. It typically takes 3-6 weeks. But somewhere between 50-75% of diabetics who come to our program are off all diabetes medications within the three weeks. I can remember one gentleman who attended who had been on insulin twice a day for 20 years. He was off insulin and completely stabilized in the first 36 hours that he was here. Dick has kept in contact with him for at least a year, and he has remained on the program he learned here, and has remained off of all diabetes meds and has normal blood sugars. So it can take as little as 36 hours or as long as 6 weeks, but but being off of insulin and having good blood sugars in 3 weeks is common.
