My name is Elana Sample. I was born to missionary parents, Alvin & Ann Bartlett, who were serving in Indonesia. I lived there for twelve years. When we moved back to the States in 1974, we settled in Elgin, OR. I went to boarding academy in Caldwell ID. The 1980-81 school year found me at Walla Walla College. I met my husband there. Two years later we started our family. Our son was born in 1983, & our daughter arrived in 1985. I was blessed to be able to stay at home with our children. It has been very rewarding to watch them grow. We have lived in many places & met many people. We have ourselves been missionaries in Pohnpei, Micronesia, and Papua, New Guinea. Recently, we lived in Talmage, NE to be close to our children as they were students at Union College. Then we came and visited here at the Black Hills Health & Education Center. We loved it so much that we moved here. It's a welcome change from the flat prairie. Mt. Rushmore is always an imposing sight & we love to go see it. We hope that if you come visit us, you will enjoy our wilderness as much as we do.

It is great to have you here and volunteering in every place you are needed. It is great to have you in the Kitchen helping out on occasion.
