Betty Garner - Business Manager

Dick NunezBetty Garner was born in Modesto, California. She attended Walla Walla College where she majored in Business Management and Medical Secretarial. She then accompanied her husband Art to Loma Linda, California where she worked as a secretary to the Manager of the Citizens Bank and later as Business Manager for the Internal Medicine Group of Physicians.

When the family moved to Alberta, Canada, Betty assisted her husband with the business as well as caring for the family and taking an active part in church responsibilities. In 1994 they took up medical mission work overseas for the next 18 years. Betty worked in the Business Office of the Karachi Hospital for four years. They were then transferred to Rawalpindi, Pakistan where she taught elementary school for another four years.

The Garners moved to Guam in 1972. Betty worked at the Guam SDA Clinic doing medical transcription, then Assistant Business Manager, and finally Manager. After moving to Loma Linda in 1982, she worked as Director of Patient Care and Dental Records in the School of Dentistry until 1994.

From 1994-1999 she worked in the dental office with her husband in Covelo, California until they retired and moved to South Dakota. In 2002, Betty accepted the position of Business Manager for the Black Hills Health & Education Center and continues in that capacity.

Betty enjoys camping, hiking, and scrapbooking.
