Campus Life

Our 265-acre campus set in rural southwestern South Dakota offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere for learning and living. Deer and wild turkey can usually be seen wandering about at leisure across the lawns and fields, nearly undisturbed by the presence of people. Sylvain Lake
Bison We are located in the beautiful and picturesque southern Black Hills just 10 miles from Mt. Rushmore National Monument and 18 miles from Custer State Park that offers 71,000 acres of varied terrain (from prairie grasslands to rugged mountain peaks, forests and lakes) and a wildlife reserve. Other local points of interest include Crazy Horse Monument and Indian Museum in Custer, the Mammoth Site (excavations in progress) in Hot Springs, and the Museum of Natural History in Hill City. Spearfish Canyon is located in the northern Black Hills and Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming is 2 ½ hours away, and the Badlands National Park is approximately 2 hours to the east. Hiking trails abound throughout the Black Hills.

Students participating in the meal plan share dining facilities with staff members and wellness program guests.
